Default 97 GST Spyder dead, need help fast!

Hi guys,

A friend of mine has a 97 GS-T spyder, he recently replaced the clutch and about 2 days ago he was leaving school, and his car shut off, about like turning the key, and hasn't started up since, anyone else had this problem and know how to fix it? THANKS!

Need more info. What happened when the car died? Does it crank?

It just shut down, like turning it off with a key, and it won't crank now, hoping it's something small-ish, I've never encounted this kind of problem before.

Did you check the fusible links? Had that happen once and it was the 90 amp fusible link for the alternator.

Fusible link, where are those located again, I haven't owned a DSM in about 3 years, so I'm pretty rusty, lol.

Im not postive on the 2nd gen turbos, but on 1st gens there are 3 on the positive battery cable, then another box of relays and fusible links on the side of the engine compartment. On a 2nd gen ill guess they would be in the main fuse box. Also might try taking off the battery terminals and cleaning them good. A good bump with corroded terminals could knock one loose and you'd have no power.
